Just a little info abt my baby

Thursday, October 16, 2003

Ok, so I know I haven't posted for a while, but I now have something worth posting.

This morning my wife called me at work to tell me that when she went into my youngest son's room, she found him without his blanket sleepers or diaper and he had peed all over the bed/room/floor. I guess it could have been worse.

My baby is 20 months old. His few favorite words, other than momma and dada, are BALL, WAZ THAT, and tickle tickle. His mother or I will be changing him on his changing table and he will raise his feet and say tickle tickle wanting us to tickle his feet. So cute.

He also loves to listed to Veggie Tales music. He especially likes the opening theme. The Veggie Tales Theme song. When ever it starts he gets up where ever he is and starts dancing.

So cute.

Well that's all for now.

Will try to write more often.

1 year later

Below are two pictures taken 1 year apart. The 1st one was on fathers day 2002. The 2nd one was taken exactly 1 year later.

Now, many people have told me that my son looks like my wife. Well, not this time!

My baby is walking!

And he's been walking from about the last time I wrote at this website. Below is a picture of my almost 15 month old dressed as batman walking!

1st step

My little one has been standing and walking for a while now, but he is always holding on to the wall or a couch.
On Sunday, I was at my fathers when he took his first 2 solo steps by himself from one stationary object to another.
What little things impress me. Soon he will be walking all over the place and I will wish that he would still be crawling, but nothing is like watching your kids take their first steps.
My little one is also in the "What's that?" phase. He will point at the TV, or a toy, or out the window and say "Was szat!????"
When my little one is not sick, he is in such a good mood. He's so happy and joyful.
I will have to say that it doesn't matter if my 1 yr old goes to bed at 9pm or 7pm, his internal clock will go off about 4:45-5:00 am he will wake up, scream bloody murder and will want to be fed and changed. Whether he needs it or not.
If he stays in bed to cry, it will last about 5 minutes, and then he will go back to sleep until 7:30 or 8:00.
Life is grand. I sure do love my kids!

Fever Time

Well, for the past 4 days, my little one has had a fever of 100+. My wife took him to the doctor on Tuesday and they said that they couldn't see anything wrong. They said that if he was still feverish on Thursday that we were to take him back. The thing is the doctors that work there today (according to my wife) are a joke. So the wife is in the process of taking him to the Children’s Hospital. My wife, being a Nurse, said that they would probably send him there anyway.
A friend of mine said that her 2 young girls had a 100+ degree fever for over 2 weeks. The Dr's told her that it was just the thing going around.
I hate when my kids are sick.

To sleep or not to sleep, that is the question

Well, my little one does not like to go to bed. Not for naps or not at night. He will be SO tired, but will not sleep! I think he's afraid of missing out on somthing. During the daylight hours, he's such a light sleeper. If a loud truck goes bye, or the bird clock chimes, he wakes up and starts to cry!
At night he get's so TIRED but will not fall asleep, I will sometimes just lay him in his crib and let him cry himself to sleep. I feel like such a bad father :(
My oldest (now 4) would go to bed great as a baby. He would sleep 12+ hrs a night and a good 2 hr nap during the day.
My youngest also seems to be VERY stubborn! Even at 1 yr of age, you would think a child would be pretty open minded, but this one. When he wants something, he get's it or you better be wearing ear protection. I suppose that is the parents fault, on both issues. With the first child, we would just put him in his crib and let him cry himself to sleep and after a while, he would know that when he was laied down, it was time for bed. For my youngest, it wasn't always possible to put him to be to cry because his bigger brother was in bed or perhaps some other reason.
I guess it just comes down to every kid is different.

My little one has another cold. It's like clock work. And it's from all his teething. He's got his 10th in now.
He's not walking by himself yet, but he's almost there. Not much else going on right now. Will post more later!
